Orhan Hikmet Azizoğlu, Founding President of the International Universities Council, paid a study visit to Northern Iraq on 5-9 September 2020. During the visit, a series of meetings were held with the Minister of Local Activities of Northern Iraq Regional Government Turkmen Aydın Maruf, Erbil Consul General Hakan Karaçay, Erbil Deputy Governor General Halit Abbas, IUC Academic Board Chairman and Erbil Polytechnic University Rector Prof. Dr. Kawa Şehravi, IUC Executive Board Member and Former Rector of Kirkuk University Prof. Dr. Abbas Taki, IUC member Kirkuk al-Kalem University Rector Prof. Dr. Ali Mekki and El-Kitap University Rector and Founder Yakup Necmeddin İUC, Executive Board Member Dohuk University Rector Prof. Dr. Mosleh Dohuki and decisions were made for cooperation and technical exchanges between Iraqi and Turkish universities in academic fields during the pandemic period.
